- Dorrigo, NSW, Australia
- Full-Time
- On-Site
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity for a Diploma-qualified Educator to join a highly regarded community preschool, offering a calm, play-based program for 3–5-year-olds that is shaped by strong family partnerships, children's agency, and meaningful connections to the local environment.
Why educators apply for this role
- Generous salary – $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on experience and capability
- Paid school holiday periods during centre closure
- Set daily hours – preschool program only, no extended day care model and no late finishes
- Small, not-for-profit community preschool for children aged 3–5 years (not corporate)
- Supportive Director with genuine scope for the right educator to be mentored towards an Educational Leader pathway
- Calm, professional and nurturing team culture
- Genuine, respectful partnerships with families who value the preschool and its educators
If you are looking for stability, balance, and meaningful work, this role delivers all three — without the burnout.
The opportunity
Early Years Talent is partnering with a long-established, community-run preschool in regional Northern New South Wales to appoint a Diploma-qualified educator.
This service has supported generations of local families and is deeply trusted within its community. Strong governance and consistent leadership have created a workplace where educators are treated as professionals, not roster gaps.
The pace of the day is intentional and considered, allowing educators the time and space to focus on relationships, children's agency, and quality practice rather than constant transitions.
About the service
- Not-for-profit, community-governed preschool with a long history of local connection
- Licensed for approximately 30 children per day
- Preschool program for children aged 3–5 years
- Play-based program aligned with the EYLF, informed by current research and educator voice
- Learning experiences are intentionally connected to the local community and natural environment, which are embraced as extensions of the curriculum
- Strong commitment to inclusion, family partnership, and Aboriginal perspectives, respectfully embedded into everyday practice
Your role
As a Diploma-qualified educator, you will:
- Deliver high-quality preschool programming aligned with the EYLF
- Support childrens learning through intentional teaching and self-guided play
- Uphold practice that recognises children as capable, confident decision-makers and active participants in their own learning
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families
- Contribute to reflective practice and collaborative team discussions
- Work alongside a Director who actively supports professional growth and development
There is clear scope for leadership development, with mentoring available for educators interested in stepping into an Educational Leader role over time.
About you
You will bring:
- A completed Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certifications
- A thoughtful, professional and child-centred approach to practice
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ideally, 1–2 years of experience working as an educator
- A genuine interest in long-term, community-based practice
Please note: visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
